Religious Education

Teach me good judgement and knowledge, for I believe in your commandments.

psalm 119:66

At St. Gabriel Church, our Religious Education program for grades 1–8 is dedicated to helping children grow in their faith, understanding, and love of God. Through engaging, age-appropriate instruction, we guide students as they learn about the core beliefs and practices of the Catholic Church and what it means to live as a disciple of Jesus.

Classes are held weekly on Sundays, beginning in September, and focus on Scripture, prayer, Catholic teachings, and participation in the life of the Church. Our program helps children develop a strong foundation in faith that they can carry with them into high school and beyond. Parents are also encouraged to participate in their child’s formation, as we believe faith is best nurtured through both parish and family life.

First Communion Preparation

Special classes are offered for children preparing to receive their First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion, typically in 2nd grade. These sessions focus on the sacraments, God’s mercy, and the sacredness of the Eucharist. Students preparing for First Communion must attend regular religious education classes in addition to the sacramental prep sessions.

We are blessed with dedicated catechists who share their faith with joy and care. Whether your child is just beginning their journey or continuing their formation, we welcome you to be part of our vibrant faith community at St. Gabriel.
